OUR SHOWROOM & ATELIER
Our showroom and atelier, located on Charoenrat Road, is in the heart of a key historic district in Chiang Mai – Wat Gate. Running parallel to the Ping River, Charoenrat Road has become a swanky area, littered with striking colonial and Thai architectural gems that house a variety of chic stores, art galleries and restaurants. In the 1800s, this was the designated area where foreigners settled, with the headquarters of the Borneo Company a mere stones-throw from our atelier (now reinvented as the lavish 137 Pillars House).
Sabina took over the charismatic Thai teak shophouse in 2013, formerly the site of contemporary art gallery La Luna, with the vision of transforming the space into a printmaking studio and gallery showcasing her opulent creations. She recalls a journey along the Tigris river when she was just 12 years old, where she admired reflections of the moon glistening on the mighty river. The Tigris river was once believed to be the source of civilization, and was also Sabina’s earliest memory of being dazzled by the timeless and eclectic imagery that surrounded her. Her imagination was ignited as she recalled this experience when developing an identity for her first public space. The Tigris Moon was thus born, paying homage to La Luna while channelling her poignant encounter as a child, and now serves as a creative melting pot, reflecting her inspirations from a world of transience, past and present.
Please visit our showroom and be transported into Sabina’s world. By appointment only.
